Ramsay Rawson with Marivaldo Dos Santos — August 1, 2026

The sounds of bossa nova, samba, jazz, and French chanson drifted through Stuyvesant Square Park on a warm summer afternoon as French-American singer and guitarist Ramsay Rawson performed with guest percussionist Marivaldo Dos Santos.

Against the lush backdrop of the West Park gardens, Rawson’s guitar and vocals intertwined with Dos Santos’s expressive percussion, bringing the French-Brazilian spirit of Rawson’s Paris Bossa Nova project to the heart of the neighborhood. Neighbors and visitors gathered beneath the trees, while others stopped along their way to listen, creating the relaxed intimacy of a musical afternoon shared in the park.

From quiet melodies to irresistible Latin American rhythms, the performance offered a little escape from the city without ever leaving it—a chance to linger, listen, and dream away a summer afternoon.
