Dog-Friendly Guidelines
Stuyvesant Square Park, like all NYC parks, encourages dog owners to enjoy the outdoors safely and responsibly. Dogs must be leashed at all times (no longer than six feet) unless in designated dog runs or off-leash areas during permitted hours. New York State law requires all dogs to be vaccinated against rabies, and NYC Health Code mandates that owners carry proof of current rabies vaccination and a valid dog license. Be sure to clean up after your dog using waste containers provided throughout the park and prevent them from disturbing wildlife. For more information or to apply for a dog license, visit the NYC Department of Health website or call 311.
