Earth Day: Help NYC’s Pigeons in Need

Join us for a hands-on, educational session as part of our Earth Day celebration with City Council Member Harvey Epstein. Learn how to recognize and assist one of the most common—and preventable—injuries affecting New York City’s pigeons: stringfoot, caused by hair or debris tangling around their feet.

Licensed wildlife rehabilitators and Wild Bird Fund volunteers Amanda Parsels and Katie Figueroa will guide participants in safely spotting pigeons in distress, understanding the impact of stringfoot, and taking simple, responsible steps to help.

This is a unique opportunity to deepen your connection with urban wildlife and help protect the birds that share our city.
