Summer Outdoors Movie Night: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Our third summer movie is J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The year is 1926, and Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident, were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

Let’s celebrate our home by viewing movies that take place in this amazing city. Come with your blanket and snacks to sit on the North Lawn in West Stuyvesant. There are many benches that allow for comfortable viewing and wheel chair access. See updated for raining dates.

Summer Outdoors Movie Night: The Secret life of Pets

Our first summer movie is The Secret Life of Pets, about a spoiled terrier who enjoys a comfortable life in a New York building until his owner adopts Duke, a giant and unruly canine. During their walk outside, they encounter a group of ferocious alley cats and wind up in a truck that’s bound for pound. Luckily, a rebellious bunny named Snowball demands that Max and Dike join his gang of abandoned pets on a mission against the humans who’ve done them wrong.
